State your hypothesis, tying your project back to the impact it might have.

We currently have gaps in the playlist on KMHD.org. The only way to ensure that the playlist is accurate is to manually ingest the songs into the playlist. The playlist is working on the backend and is not making it to the frontend website.

KMHD promotes the playlist on every show so that the audience can go back and discover songs they heard or may have missed. Without the function, our audience is given a false option in music discovery.

Which metrics would you use to track the success of this project? We will use this as the foundation of our experiment design. (Optional)

Success would be a 24/7 playlist that updates automatically giving our audience the function to discover new music.
NOTE: Playlist was accurately working prior to 2022.

What problem are we trying to solve for our communities with this experiment? How might it help us better serve them?

The KMHD playlist is the most important aspect of KMHD.org. As a "discovery format," the KMHD community uses this function to discover new music through our curated musical selection. This keeps our users to come back and use the site as our own personal "shazam" for jazz music.

Lay out the potential project steps to the best of your ability, including key teams that would need to be consulted. This is your best knowledge of the systems, tools and lift that would be required.
  1. Retroactively examine website maintenance and see if any of the updates affected the KMHD playlist.

  2. If no issues are found, we may have to examine the possibility of finding a 'NPR Composer' expert inside or outside of NPR to investigate the issue.
