Adding a cultivation/member acknowledgement sentence at the top of all newsletters. Something wordsmithed more, but along the lines of "These essential stories are made possible by our members."

By regularly conveying who we are, what makes us different, and why member support is important and enables all we do for everyone, we'll reinforce cultivation efforts (and downstream conversions later,) increase member satisfaction with regular acknowledgement (boosting retention,) and help elevate our business model and values in contrast to other news and media orgs.

We don't expect to see conversions shortly after implementing, but if over time subscribers of specific newsletters retain or convert at a higher percentage, we can do some additional digging and infer impact.

What problem are we trying to solve for our communities with this experiment? How might it help us better serve them?

We're trying to better convey, across all touchpoints, who we are, what makes us/what we do different and that it's all due to member support.

This should act as a cultivation reinforcement and serve as a reminder to our members that they matter and others in the community rely on their support to enable what we do.

Lay out the potential project steps to the best of your ability, including key teams that would need to be consulted. This is your best knowledge of the systems, tools and lift that would be required.

This has already been cleared in a conversation between Cheryl and Morgan H, enabling us to proceed. This should be a low lift and doable while other more intensive and growth focused quick wins are underway.

  • Membership drafts a few short sentences for our various newsletter and their respective tone, perhaps offering a few additional options to choose from.

  • Run it by the email product team for insight and input.

  • For membership/RPI sent emails (Insider & Superabundant), membership folks add an ongoing content block below the header (or elsewhere) to the next email build. Will carry over.

  • For FirstLook, we can work with the build team to insert into the appropriate stock asset area.
