As mentioned above, many of our stories roll off of the homepage within a week. Sometimes a day. It feels like a disservice to our audience, who we know aren't always able to catch a story right as it happens. An archive of features, QAs, and stories would offer a break from the news and also give those stories more legs. It also respects the time and effort of the journalists that create and produce those stories.

Which metrics would you use to track the success of this project? We will use this as the foundation of our experiment design. (Optional)

I suppose it would fall to audience insights and eyeballs on our stories.

What problem are we trying to solve for our communities with this experiment? How might it help us better serve them?

I would love to see an organizational piece on the website with categories for the many, many stories we tell that is easily accessible and findable for our audience. Features (maybe we could break them into more detailed categories like food, music, literary, gaming, etc.) Q&As, etc. Perhaps it could be called "The Vault" or "You Might Have Missed This." Often a story will roll off our homepage and then it's nowhere to be found unless you know the specific search term, but how would one search if they didn't know it existed? I think it would serve our audience well because not everyone might catch these stories in that first round on the homepage.

Lay out the potential project steps to the best of your ability, including key teams that would need to be consulted. This is your best knowledge of the systems, tools and lift that would be required.

The web team and potentially the reporters/journalists would have to come together to dig up stories or find a way to organize them. Once the structure is in place, I think it would be easy to update when publishing to web (add where it goes afterward it's off of the homepage).
