State your hypothesis, tying your project back to the impact it might have.

We need to follow the user journey through the purchase path to see where users are abandoning due to friction of the submission process. Right now we can track the purchase path to when the contribution form button is in view but, if we can't track traffic to the confirmation page. This would help us assess where users abandon the form, stumbling blocks to giving, and user behavior.

Which metrics would you use to track the success of this project? We will use this as the foundation of our experiment design. (Optional)

Ability to create in-depth reporting in GA4 that tracks the user from landing page to contribution form to confirmation page. Full user journey.

What problem are we trying to solve for our communities with this experiment? How might it help us better serve them?

When a user completes a purchase on a contribution form they see a confirmation page that currently has a universal url and isn't built as a custom event parameter in GA4 for analysis. I need to know how many users successfully completed a form following the federal funding cut and if they were new or returning users on our website. Also, we don't currently have an event firing when the "Contribute Now" button is clicked at the end of donation forms. This would tell us successful vs. failed form submissions as well.

Lay out the potential project steps to the best of your ability, including key teams that would need to be consulted. This is your best knowledge of the systems, tools and lift that would be required.

Keegan knows the necessary steps involved in adding this custom event as a parameter.

-Custom event for the confirmation page, contribute now clicks, form submission failures. I need to know how many users are new from first visit/first open through completion of purchase event.
